Pairings set for 2023 Frontier Conference Volleyball Tournament
After an incredible regular season, the Montana Tech Volleyball team has clinched the regular season title and now head to the league tournament. The following is from the Montana Tech Athletic Department:
BUTTE, Mont.- The Montana Tech Orediggers have secured the Frontier Conference Regular Season Championship, and now it is time for the Frontier Tournament.
The Frontier Conference tournament will be held on the campus of the University of Providence, Friday November 10th, and Saturday November 11th.
Montana Tech (22-4 overall, 8-2 in conference games) Winning the regular season title has earned the No. 1 seed and will receive a bye into the semifinals where they will play at 5pm on Friday against either Montana Western or MSU-Northern.
Montana Western and MSU-Northern will open the tournament with a first-round match on Friday at 11am. Western is the No. 4 seed after finishing conference play at 5-5. Northern finished conference play at 4-6 and is the No. 5 seed. Western won both meetings with the Skylights during the regular season.
The other side of the bracket has Providence as the No. 2 seed after completing conference play with a 7-3 record. The Argos receive the other first-round bye and will play the winner of Rocky Mountain College vs. Carroll College.
Rocky, at 6-4 in league play, is the tournament's No. 3 seed. Carroll College is the No. 6 seed, finishing 0-10 in conference action. The Bears and Saints will meet at 1pm Friday, with the winner playing the Argos in the Friday nightcap at 7pm.
The winners of the semi-finals will then play at 2pm Saturday for the tournament championship.
