Reminisce at the Spirit of Columbia Gardens Carousel in Butte
Reminisce at the Spirit of Columbia Gardens Carousel in Butte
As children, my sister and I had ants in our pants, so although we loved hanging out at Muzz and Stan's to see how the adults did it, we couldn't wait to get to the Columbia Gardens! It was beyond the best! The awesome rides, the carnival-style food, the beautiful flowers displayed, hence Columbia "Gardens" (yes, this kid remembered the floral landscape). That's how magical it was and how it is something most of us will never forget.

Next, the almighty Copperhead school assembly and downtown parade took place Friday with traditional entries on tap to include Anaconda High Royalty, class floats, and pillaring firetrucks with Copperhead athletes on top. Loyal fans and alum lined the streets for blocks to pay tribute to the Heads. National Coffee Day is All the Buzz
Today is National Coffee Day, so let the caffeine buzz begin! Whether you like yours hot, cold...with cream, milk, sugar, sweetener, honey, or black, coffee is ingrained in our everyday lives. We are creatures of habit. From the time we awake in the morning, coffee is a go-to beverage of choice. Sure, many prefer tea, decaf coffee (we forgive you), or even Mountain Dew in the morning, but today we honor coffee for its robust drink, and again, because it has its special day! The All Japan Coffee Association established this day devoted to such an aromatic bean in 1983 and in the United States by 2005.

Participants Embark on a Local Murder Mystery
The faint at heart need not apply when solving a real-life murder mystery. However, when it's all in good, harmless fun and part of a theatrical stage production, then, by all means, attendees are highly encouraged to participate. That is exactly what can be expected during the production of Pat Cook's 'You Have the Right to Remain Dead' performed at the Copper Village Museum and Arts Center in Anaconda, September 29th through October 9th. The production is under the direction of Sue Konicek of Anaconda's Open Theatre Project.

Taylor Hawkins Fans in Montana Seek Closure with Tribute Concerts
Then all joking aside, and just like that, within months, on March 25th, everything tragically changed. The dynamics of what was once the Foo Fighters came to a halt as news of the passing of 50-year-old drummer Taylor Hawkins, stunned and saddened the music world. Foo Fighters were set to perform in Bogota, Columbia, where Hawkins succumbed to a drug-related cardiovascular collapse. From that moment on, the grieving process began for bandmates, family members, friends, and countless fans. Things would never be the same for the band, as Foo Fighters' concerts were instantly canceled across the globe, including their scheduled stop at Big Sky. It was adamantly the scenario. Foo Fighters would not be making a trip to Montana, and even if they did, it wouldn't be the same without Taylor!
