You Won’t Believe Who Works at This Anaconda, MT Brewery

BUTTE, MT - When in Montana, one must make sure to see everything it has to offer to visitors and residents alike. Sometimes, being a resident, we get caught up in our day-to-day lives, missing the cool, unique features of the towns we love in favor of staying faithful to our regular spots. Consider Anaconda, our pretty and popular little sister to the north. Anaconda has a brewery that makes it unique in its experience for its patrons, faithful and new.

Smelter City Brewing, located in the heart of the beautiful and historic Anaconda—a hop, skip, and jump away from Butte—is like most other quality breweries here in Montana. It has a solid selection of local beers, a fascinating interior that makes you feel like you're in a classic Western, and a greeter who meows at you. Okay, wait, what was that last part?

That's right! Smelter City Brewing has a one-of-a-kind experience for all of those who walk in its historic glass doors: a cat named "Taps" who greets you and proceeds to hang out with you as down your beer. I honestly can't think of anything better.

Neither can its patrons, who've just celebrated the 3rd Annual Taps Day with the owner, staff, and, of course, the star of the show: Taps himself. Though I personally haven't had the pleasure yet of visiting, I can tell you exactly where I will be this time next year, and hopefully a little sooner. We love you, Taps!
