Last week the Butte Central softball team nearly broke into the win column in a big way, nearly beating the championship-quality Dillon Beavers and the baseball team came within a run of their first two-game winning streak in program history. Although both squads eventually lost their contests, confidence is growing, and spirits remain high as busy activities week lies ahead. Here is where you will find the Maroons in action this week.
Maybe this week the weather will cooperate. After an early spring snowstorm wreaked havoc on last week's local sports schedule it looks like we will be facing better conditions this week as the Butte Central Maroons get back into the spring sports season. Things will start with a bang on Monday with a huge baseball game.
This evening the Butte Central Maroons will have their hands full with the Columbia Falls WildKats in the first round of the Western A Divisional Basketball Tournament being played in Whitefish, so it is definitely a bit premature to start talking about the State Tournament which will tip off next Thursday in Billings. But Butte Central Head Coach Brodie Kelly just seems to find a way to get his teams to state tournaments regardless of size, height or even sometimes speed. When they get there, they are always a team to contend with.

Although the extremely young Butte Central Girls Basketball team would up with a 39-point loss on the evening, it was a celebration of sorts as the team and the school hosted the 10th annual Cancer Schmancer Night, remembering the late Mairissa Peoples and honoring all who have passed or have had their lives affected by cancer in any way.

The Butte Central Education Foundation will celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the
Maroon Activities Center this weekend during a home basketball double header.
The celebration will be held January 25, 2025, during the boys’ and girls’ varsity
basketball games against the Hamilton Broncs. The boys’ game will be at 4:00 P.M. and the girls’ game will be at 5:30 P.M.
