If there's one thing that Montanans aren't shy about, it's calling it as they see it. We asked residents to tell us about the most redneck towns in the state, and people were quick to share their opinions.

Montana's Most Redneck Towns, According to Locals

Across Montana, you'll find small towns where camouflage is considered formal wear, and a happening Friday night includes a cold beer at the local dive bar. It's not uncommon to see people "rolling coal" in their jacked-up pickup trucks simply because they're bored and have nothing else to do.

Montana is full of small communities that lean into a simpler lifestyle. That's right. Many people in Big Sky Country live a rugged, no-frills lifestyle. Fishing and hunting are a way of life for many who call the state home.

Whether it’s trucks coated in mud, rodeo weekends, or neighbors who always show up when it matters, these towns represent a way of life that’s still alive and well in Montana.

If you ask some Montana residents, they'll tell you that Rednecks don't live here, and instead, they're referred to as "Hayseeds."

Regardless of the name, there are several similarities in lifestyle. To be clear, I'm not trying to bash on any towns in Montana. When locals started naming names, a few towns came up again and again. Some are tiny, some are rugged, and all of them have a reputation for doing things their own way.
