The Race That Brings Bozeman Together Every Thanksgiving
We all have Thanksgiving traditions. Whether it is gathering for a big family meal, joking about who loves or hates that can of pre-made cranberry sauce, or maybe taking part in a community event. When I was growing up, we lived out in the country, and we did not have many Thanksgiving community events to join. But Bozeman is different.
This town has something pretty special, and it has turned into one of the most loved holiday traditions around. It is called the Huffing for Stuffing Race, and besides being a great way to kick off Thanksgiving morning, it is also a way to help others.
The Huffing for Stuffing race takes place every Thanksgiving morning and begins at the Museum of the Rockies. It is a fun run and walk, and all proceeds benefit the HRDC Gallatin Valley Food Bank. It is an easy way to get moving before the big meal and it brings out hundreds of locals who want to start the day with purpose.
Important Times and Parking Info For The Race
If you plan on going, parking is available at the MSU Fieldhouse, University Police Station, Greek Way, and east of the Museum near the Postal Annex and Pilgrim Church. Parking is not allowed in the Museum of the Rockies lot or the East Stadium Lot, since that is the Kids Run course. Kagy will be closed from South 7th to South 3rd.
Race schedule:
8:00 am Kids Run
8:50 am 10K
9:10 am 5K Timed
9:15 am 5K Untimed Fun Run

For many in Bozeman, Thanksgiving does not officially begin until they have huffed for stuffing. And honestly, what better way to start the holiday than by doing something good for yourself and for someone else?
