One of my favorite things to do when I travel is try out new places. Not only do I research the events and things to do and see, but I also research the restaurant scene. Here in Montana, we have some pretty impressive places to dine. Whether you're looking for a great bar-b-q platter or a delicious steak, you'll find it here in The Treasure State.
So when it comes to each state's signature dish, which one tops the list for Montana?

Is it the Porkchop sandwich? The pasty? Is it a Bison steak? Elk? Deer? None of those are considered Montana's signature dish. So what is? Before we share with you Montana's "signature" dish, here's a look at some of our favorite Montana restaurants no longer around.

What is Montana's signature dish?
According to The FW, Montana's signature dish isn't a dish at all. It's a fruit. That's right, Montana's signature dish is huckleberries. Not a huckleberry pie, or a huckleberry cobbler. It's not a huckleberry shake or ice cream, it's just...huckleberries.
Don't get me wrong, I love huckleberries. They're fantastic, but should they be our signature dish for the state? I mean, if we're going with a fruit, shouldn't we go with something that no one else has? Like Flathead cherries? I mean, huckleberries are the official fruit for Idaho. Or shouldn't they at least be in some sort of dish other than just "huckleberries",
