If you are looking for a place where Montana’s past and history come back to life, the Montana Heritage Center gives exactly that. Located right across the street from the State Capitol in Helena, the newly opened space is quickly becoming a must-stop for locals and visitors. The ribbon cutting took place on December 2, with the doors officially opening to the public on December 3, 2025.
The Montana Heritage Center is far more than a traditional museum. Inside, you will find three large gallery spaces that guide you through the story of Montana and the people who shaped it. There is also a library and archives research center, an on-site cafe, a gift shop, and an events space. Best of all, the galleries are open to everyone at no cost, making it an easy addition to any Helena visit.
