I promise, you will not be far from live music uptown this St. Patrick's Day.  Seriously.  There is more music planned for Uptown Butte today than any other non-festival day that I can think of.  Enough to where I may have inadvertantly left someone out.  If I did, I apologize ahead of time and invite you to include yourself in the comments

Okay, let's dive right in.  The Elks Lodge on Galena has been around for many a St. Paddy's Day so they know what they're doing.  The bar opens at 10am. they will be serving food and they have the legendary Andy Larson on stage from 1 to 4.

Speaking of soloists, if you want to see one of Montana's absolute best, you need to check out Russell Nelson at the Axe Bar on Park Street tonight.  Russ is what happens when pure talent meets hard work and what sets Russ apart from the others is that he has also been directing the Butte Central Pep Band for the last several years, passing on Butte's musical torch to the next generation.  Russ plays the Axe tonight from 8 to 11.

Talent runs in Russ Nelson's family because one of his mentors, his uncle John Montoya knows a thing or two about entertaining.  For years he was known as the front man for the unforgettable band Last Call but he's also been doing the solo thing for awhile and you can catch him in the afternoon from 4 to 7 at the Richest Hill.

John Montoya will be following a rather late addition to the lineup card as Check Engine Light, a high-energy punk group from Butte will be kicking things off at the Richest Hill immediately following the parade.

King Friday will close out the night at the Richest Hill from 8 to 11.  Butte people need no introduction to King Friday but if you're a guest to our city, this band is an absolute must-see.

Just down the street and around the corner from the Richest Hill is the Silver Dollar which is another establishment that is well-known for it's St. Patrick's Day lineup.  This year is no exception as Rocket to Uranus and Erik "Fingers" Ray " will be performing as part of their all-day lineup.  Also taking the stage will be local legends Tim Sullivan, Wally Jemmings and Scott Murphy later in the evening.  This one promises to be of epic proportions.

Up on Park Street, right next to Northwestern Energy, you will find the Big Butte Casino and Lounge and they are ready for their first St. Patrick's Day with Levi Blom taking their brand-new stage from 4 to 7.

After Levi Blom, High Ore Road will be on the Big Butte stage from 8 to 11.  There are many bands in Butte and High Ore Road has been described as "one of them".
