Why Tim Montana Keeps Showing Up for America’s Veterans
Tim Montana and the gang have been planning to take over the Sunrise Saloon (August 15TH) for a veterans' benefit we call "Outside the Wire." What makes this more than a typical tour stop? All the money from the acoustic performance will go toward the Legion Riders of Corvallis and their annual Veterans Bear Camp.

This Veterans Bear Camp is very near and dear to my heart.
My dad was a disabled Vietnam vet and got to attend Veterans Bear Camp. After seeing his experience at camp, I thought it would be great to put together an event called Outside the Wire, and that's why we worked so hard to bring Tim Montana to Missoula.
However, there is another aspect I want to talk about regarding Tim Montana.
While I know many people who work with vets through events such as Outside the Wire, Tim Montana has done this type of fundraising for quite some time.
American Thread Sporting Clays Shoot
As I am sure you all know, Tim Montana hosts the American Thread Sporting Clays Shoot in Nashville each year. It has all the elements of a Tim Montana fundraiser. You have a group of musicians/celebrities, shotguns, sporting clays, a concert, and an auction. And the entire event is used to fundraise for military families.
The 2025 American Thread sporting clays fundraiser was a success. In fact, the total amount of funds raised by the 2025 American Thread sporting clays fundraiser went above $307,000. This means that the American Thread sporting clays fundraiser has now raised more than $1.8 million since it started. That's some serious money going to a great cause.
American Thread Returns in September
In addition to hosting an acoustic show to benefit veterans here in Missoula, Tim Montana also helps host the American Thread sporting clays event in Nashville. The 2026 American Thread sporting clays event returns to Nashville September 28-30th.
First, there is a dinner/auction/Tim Montana & Friends concert on Broadway in Nashville. Second, the groups participating in the sporting clays event will visit the Nashville Gun Club for a 75-clay sporting clays competition.
Special Ops Xcursions and the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation are the charities benefiting from the 2026 American Thread sporting clays event. These two organizations provide support for both active duty service members and service member families.
When Tim Montana agreed to come to Missoula and help us with Outside the Wire to raise money for veterans, it did not seem completely outside of character because he continues to participate in these types of fundraisers. And supporting veterans is a cause he can really get behind.
